On Saturday we all went out to Ben's parents. Ben played golf with his dad and Chance, Debbie and I hung out at the house. The picture is of Chance being fed by his "Gran" (we think that is name she picked)

We actually made it to Sunday School, church and out to eat with the Nichols. What a day!

On a walk to the mailbox with all the dogs and Pops. Sealy is tied to the stroller. We are thinking she could be a sled dog if we let her!!

2 Weeks Old!

Our little man is two weeks old today! It has been a hard two weeks and as Ben would put it "it has been the best two weeks and the worst two weeks" all rolled into one! We had a major accomplishment last night. I started pumping with the ok from my lactation consultant (a patient's mom, gotta love that!). Chance took his first bottle last night at 11:30 with his dad! He was a champ and downed it. Then proceeded to sleep for 5 hours in between feedings. So momma got a solid 6 1/2 hours straight! Enjoy the pictures! God has truly blessed our family more than we imagined!

A Special Thank You from Chance....to MiMi

My mom has been here since Chance was born last Friday. Stacy and mom babysat first our three dogs at the house when we were in the hospital (thanks Aunt Stacy), and then my mom has been our "wingman" this past week! She was our relief in the night so we could get some sleep and my sanity during the daytime. We had a system down pretty good! We even had walkie talkies ready at one point! She went to Victoria today to visit my grandparents and will be back next week with my dad! We did recruit Ben's sister Genevieve to be our new "wingman" for the night so I will let you know how it goes! Thank you mom!

Day of Firsts!!

The past couple days have been several "firsts" for our little guy. On Wednesday we had our first doctor visit. He has already started gaining weight back that he had lost in the hospital.

His first little visitor to hold him. Addison was so excited to hold "baby Chance" So excited to have Dena and the two kids come over this afternoon!

His first concert with his dad. He was totally captivated and awake the whole time. At one point Ben stopped playing and he started crying!

His first bath on Wednesday night. It took the three of us (mom, Ben, and I) to accomplish this task. He still managed to pee on the wall during this time, but it went well!

Home from the hospital, "Survival mode" Begins!!

We made it home from the hospital yesterday around 5pm! Our first night at home was pretty rough. Needless to say we did not get much sleep last night. Enjoy the pictures!

Chance Russell Hembree

Ben and I welcomed our new addition, Chance Russell Hembree, Friday April 9th at 2:35pm! He weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz. and was 19 and 3/4 inches long! He is doing absolutely wonderful! He has reddish-blonde hair and is of course very fair skinned like his mom and dad. Ben has been stepped into his role as a dad like a champ! I had a c-section so he is doing the majority of the leg work. I love to watch him as he looks at his new son! God has truly blessed our family.

Long story short we ended up doing a c-section because Chance was not engaged into my pelvis whatsoever. After delivery this proved to be the best decision and I am so glad we chose to do it. Katy was our nurse during the delivery and I could not have asked for anything more special than a friend to help deliver our son!

Count Down!!

The countdown has begun! As you can see by the pictures this was at 39 weeks this past Saturday! I am still very high up! Sweet little guy just doesn't want to come on down! I am feeling great still so no complaints on my end! I am officially on maternity leave so just trying to keep myself busy. I had to include a picture of Ben as well so he wouldn't feel left out!

All Trimmed and Ready to Go!!

Boomer and Bailey got sent to the groomers this past week! No more long shaggy hair! They both look really nice and I can tell they feel much better! Boomer looks so handsome and like a little puppy! Poor Sealy got left out!
