Hallie: 3 months old

Sweet Hallie is already 3 months old!  I love the new milestones, but at the same time it breaks my heart as she gets bigger!  We hit a great milestone this past month with Hallie sleeping through the night.  She started at 10 weeks had a set back due to a cold followed by ear infections, but has since bounced back!  She has started to giggle and babble.  She is very social as my friend Katy likes to say!  She better be to get a word in around her brother!  She still loves to take baths and will scream as we take her out.  These past few baths she has gotten better, but she still gets mad!  She hates tummy time and lets us know by just burrowing her head down and crying.  So we are trying to work on it!  She has found her hands and has started to reach for things!  She really enjoys watching Chance play and he even tries to read to her! I walked in Hallie's room the other day to find that Chance had taken off her diaper and was trying to pick her up!  He tries to help!  She is so happy and we are so blessed to watch as Miss Hallie grows!  I just love her to pieces!  We had two photo sessions!  She wouldn't take her hands out of her mouth for the first one!

"Loving" on his sister! Don't worry she is tough!

A minor setback for Chance!

Chance and Boomer!

Chance loves the dogs!  Boomer has become his best buddy this past month.  We think because they are on the same speed.  Just recently he has a new found energy playing with Chance and it has been so much fun to watch him and Chance play.  Boomer takes life easy now-a-days, but will chase Chance around the yard.   We see glimpses of the old young Boomer again!  We have to remind Chance ALOT not to bully but he is getting better.

Had to include.  Love this picture!

Robin Hood Birthday Party!

Chance had his birthday party the Saturday after his actual birthday due to the way Easter fell this weekend.  I decided not to go all out as I did last year and just keep things simple.  I was very glad we did.  He loves Robin Hood so that was the theme!  He has a bulls-eye cake with arrows and a Sherwood forest tree cake!  His party favors were burlap sacks with of course gold coins!  We had a few of Chance's favorite foods: Chick-fil-a nuggets and fruit, potato salad, and chips!  He was so excited and he kept sneaking nuggets off the table!  My sister and her family came into to town so the kids got to play with each other!  So fun to see Chance and Dorothy Grace becoming friends!  We also had Ben's parents and grandaddy and a few friends from church.  We borrowed a bounce house from the Watson's and it was a hit! Chance would have stayed in that thing ALL night if we let him.  We had a great evening and had so much fun celebrating our TWO year old!

Loved the cake!  They tasted fantastic as well! They were from Bumdoodlers in Boerne

Chance turns 2!

Our little buddy turned 2 this past week!  We had his party on Saturday at the house.  His current favorite movie is the old Disney Robin Hood.  I will post about the party soon.  So it was a no brainer that his party would be Robin Hood.

We started the birthday week off by waking him up to a decorated house which included streamers, a banner, and balloons.  He was so excited!  Ben and I went to work a little later that morning so we let him open one of his birthday presents a lego animal set!  He loved it and plays with the animals all the time.  We had a whole evening planned of going out to eat at a fun place called Bigz to let Chance play and eat!  Come to find out we drove all the way fighting traffic and it was closed.  We were desperate and settled for Taco Cabana.  We sat outside and he played with some boys there!  He didn't mind one bit!  We then let him go see his other birthday present a climber in our backyard.  He loves it as well and is a perfect size for him and we don't have to be right there as he climbs up.  As you will see Bailey and Daddy like to climb it as well.  We are so proud of our little fella!

We also had a pedi visit Friday! All is well!  He is still on the small side at almost 25 lbs and almost 33 inches tall, but the doc reminded us that this is not a contest and would rather him be on the smaller side!  He had to get a shot at the doctor and was such a trooper.  He was more upset they put a bandaid on him than the actual shot itself!  (he doesn't like bandaids at all!)

Fun Facts:
  • Loves to read books.  Overheard him in the bathtub reciting Brown Bear Brown Bear to his animals.  He was just making it up as he went and was really close to the actual characters. He was also reciting a Dr Sues alphabet book the other day!  I think we have a memorizer on our hands!
  • He loves the Letter Factory dvd.  He watches it and has flash cards that he will search for the letter as they are talking about each one.  He does a really good job at finding and recognizing each one and knowing what each one says.
  • Loves other children.  While we were at Taco Cabana he was telling the other boys to chase him and as they were climbing the railing he told them to be careful.  He is very cautious as well.
  • Loves his sister.  He takes great pride in doing things for her such as putting her clothes in the dirty clothes.  He asked me to help change her diaper the other day.  I "let" him wipe her.  I catch him patting her head or legs or just hugging her.  Makes this mommy smile
  • He likes to stand on his head,  especially in his crib!
  • Loves all the dogs!
  • Likes his camo baseball hat! He is very particular about how it goes on!  He flips out if it is not on perfectly straight!
  • Can recall events from many months ago! Still talks about Santa Claus' house at Bass Pro Shop.Amazes me!
  • Says Hab it ALOT when he wants something or IS IT?  Also new thing of when we get in the car he asks Where going?
  • At night he wants to pray for the whole family by name and he is able to name them all by himself.  He even threw in the Mickey Mouse characters Pete and Pluto!  They need prayers as well right!
  • Very kind heart and sweet personality.  We pray God uses this little fella in mighty BIG ways!

Easter 2012

We had a wonderful Easter this year! On Friday we went to our church's Easter egg hunt. Chance had a great time jumping in the bounce house for about an hour!! He also really liked hunting for eggs. He didn't quite grasp the concept of his basket and wanted to hold them all. Funny guy! Our family of four made it to church and then out to Ben's parents house for the afternoon. Ben enjoyed some golf with his dad and brother in law and we relaxed as the kiddos napped. We hunted for eggs again! Chance really loved the confetti eggs and liked to break them on himself and others. We are so thankful for this season of life and the gift that Christ paid for all of us on the cross. We are so undeserving and so grateful!

Hallie ready to go hunt eggs

Easter bunny! Who knows why Chance has a wooden spoon! He wouldn't sit with the bunny so mommy had to!  Poor Hallie took a picture by herself!

Big girl! Braver than brother

Had to include the worn out I am so tired I want to go take a nap picture!

Ready for church! This is Hallie really mad!  Poor Chance trying to hold on! Not one of Hallie's finer moments!

Another try, yes that is spit up and she still wore it to church:))
