Hallie turns 1!

Our sweet little girl turned one on the 20th of January!  How fast time flies!  We had her party at the house on the 19th.  Chance was thrilled to have a party at the house!  My sister and Dorothy Grace came down the night before to help decorate and get things ready!  So glad she was there.  Fruit kabobs take a little longer than one would think to make!  We are so thankful for this little gift of a little girl!  It really seems this last month that she has become a little girl right before our eyes.  She tries to keep up with Chance more and more and tries so hard to communicate her opinion be it happy or mad.  Some fun facts:
  • She can now pull herself to standing and moves around
  • Her favorite thing is to climb the stairs at the house and thinks it is so funny when we go to get her
  • Talking more... can say Hallie, bubba for Chance, mama, dada, bailey, sealy, ball, uhoh, hello, bye
  • Does not enjoy baby food and is pretty much eating what we eat
  • Loves Chance's bed and likes to play in it with him
Our sweet front desk lady in Bulverde made this for Hallie and is so sums up what is she up to:
We had such a great time celebrating such a special day with Hallie!  Enjoy the picture overload.  Chantel helped with the pictures during cake cutting and I was so grateful to have great pictures.

Off to Lubbock we go!

We headed out to so see my family on Christmas morning!  We loaded up all in the car (Ben, me, Hallie, Chance, Boomer, Bailey, and Sealy)!!  It was a really easy drive until we got to Snyder and the snow and ice hit!  We still made it under 6 hours even with the bad roads due to the speed limit change.  Chance was so excited to see snow when we got there.  We got there in time to take naps and then Barak's family came over to open presents.  Stacy and her family did not get to make it this year because of Harlan being sick they wanted him to be around the least amount of people as possible.

We had a great time opening presents with everyone!  Throughout the evening I commented on how cold it felt, but everyone dismissed me sooooo.. about 11pm my mom came and told Ben and I that the heater kept throwing the breaker so we would not have heat!  This normally would be okay; however, it was getting down into the teens that night.  So Ben and I made the decision to have him take Hallie over to Barak's and Chance and I would stay there and cuddle up for the night.  I was a popsicle when we woke up!  Even though the heat was restored midday we went over to my brother's to stay!  It was so fun to see how the kids look up to Griffin and Lauren!  Chance loved all of Griffin's toys and followed him around.  When Griffin jumped to touch the door frame Chance followed.   We kept busy the next few days hanging out, playing just dance on the Wii (Ben happens to be very good at this!), eating tons of food, and shopping.  I enjoy going to Lubbock for the change of pace.  Life just seems to slow down while we are there!

All loaded up! You can barely see how high the stuff is packed in!
