Family Vacation: Log Country Cove

We went on a family vacation to Lake LBJ this past weekend with Ben's parents and sister's family.  We stayed at the most awesome place ever!  It is called Log Country Cove that have individual cabins/houses right on the lake!  We stayed at the Treehouse which literally looked like one!  It was amazing with so many fun things to keep our family busy all day long.  We arrived on Thursday evening after work once Ben picked up the boat from storage at Canyon Lake and picked me up at the office in Bulverde.  We split up meals so it worked perfectly.  Chance had a fantastic time following his daddy around and doing whatever he did.  We had a putting green above the boat dock, fishing, washers, rope swing, a sandy beach, and tons to keep us busy on the boat.  We drug Hallie along when it was not her naptime wherever we went!  As you can see from the pictures she was not a fan of the boat.  She never cried but had a look of disgust the entire time.  Hallie's favorite was the sandy beach area!  She loves to be in the water splashing and watching everyone!  Chance's favorite if you ask him was the golf!! He woke each morning wanting to play golf!  He is his daddy's son for sure!  We got an inner tube for the boat and he rode with mommy.  He will have a ball once he gets a little bigger!  Ben and Chance spent the entire weekend outside which was wonderful for daddy/son bonding!  Chance only really came in to take an afternoon nap!  This will definitely become an annual trip for us!

Hallie: 7 months

Our sweet princess is 7 months old!  She is so precious!  She is happy like her brother.  She now has two lower incisors!  The left came in first and a few days later the right one followed.  She loves Chance!  Ben and I think she likes him better than us sometimes!  I guess that is the indication of the future.  She has become a much better baby food eater! For the longest time she refused to open her mouth and we would have to trick her to eat or have big brother make her laugh so she opened her mouth.  She now eats food twice a day and a bottle four times a day!  She still takes 2 good 2 hour naps during the day and a short evening nap.  She sleeps a good solid 11 hours at night!  She dislikes being on her tummy so the preference now-a-days is just to sit up and look around!  She loves Mommy jewelry and is fascinated by earrings and necklaces and just wants to eat them up!  She loves being in the water whether it be the bathtub or pool!  She also loves to talk!  She has started grunting at you like she really has something to say!  She has started the baba sounds and I have heard her say mama accidentally:))  She has the cutest chunkiest thighs and rolls on her kneecaps!  She also loves to be outside!  Even though she had a run in with a mean bee the other day! According to our scale she weights a whopping 16 pounds!  She is petite chunky!!  Her favorite activity is chasing Chance around the house with the help of Daddy!  They both just scream and cackle!  That is what we are up to most nights in the Hembree house!

Best Buddies

Hallie and Chance love one another!  He really enjoys her and really has started playing with her!  He will always make sure she has a toy in hand and if she drops anything he will grab it and hand it back!  This is after she has screamed bloody murder because life was over when it dropped!  They love the blow up pool in the backyard and spend many afternoons there!  Hallie just sits and splashes away while Chance gets in and out running around the yard pestering the dogs!  We have recently put our house up for sale (A topic for another post! We are not moving far don't worry) and the kids and I were headed up to the office for a few hours while there was a showing!  Hallie started crying in her seat and Chance told her "It is okay Hallie we are almost home someone is coming to buy our house!"  He is so so smart it is scary!

Daddy even fits!  Don't feel sorry for us we have got a bigger pool!

Chance showing off his Sonic drink (water) He didn't know!  Look close it is up his nose!

She prefers cars over dolls right now!

Ben  looked over and found the two crazies on top of the table outside!  Don't know how that happened!

Chance's Day on the Lake

Ben and I took just Chance to the lake a few weeks ago!  Ben's parents watched Hallie for us so we could test out the boat and enjoy some time alone with our buddy!  He had a blast!  He would tell us he was having too much fun!  Everytime he got out of the water he would say this is so much fun!  He loved swimming and driving around the lake.  He is such a sweet little guy and we enjoyed the day with him!  He is at such a fun age!  He talks all the time and comes up with the funniest things!  His newest saying is "Hey Mom Where is my Dad?" Too funny!  He acts so grown up.  Makes us sad we are now Mom and Dad to him instead of Mommy and Daddy!  I hope it is just a phase!

Sacked out on the way home!
